OUR MISSION
Saint Joseph’s School for the Blind, founded and
sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace, serves its mission
by a Judeo-Christian attitude toward human life in an environment of
caring, peace, and acceptance that emphasizes respect for each individual’s
rights and dignity.
Of special concern is the development of the potential of each student
through highly specialized learning in a least restrictive environment.
To accomplish these aims, the administration and staff provide for the
development of meaningful skills through education, therapeutic intervention,
family involvement, and independent living.
All efforts to enliven the mission of St. Joseph’s School for
the Blind are directed toward the educational, psychological, social,
and physical well-being of students, young adults who are blind, visually
impaired, and blind visually impaired multi-disabled. Collaborative
efforts, therefore, of students, family, staff, volunteers and supporters
are equally important in providing quality services and programs.
